The NHL Board of Governors approved a schedule change today.
I’m pretty pleased with it. Teams will still face their division opponents six times a season, and the other teams in their conference four times each. That leaves 18 games in the 82-game season, during which teams will face each team in the opposing conference at least once.
I like this idea. I would love to see teams in the Eastern Conference more often. I think Western Conference teams deserve to see Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin, and the other Eastern Conference superstars at least once a season. Not to mention, I like it when the Lundqvist teams face each other.
I’m currently watching the Cowboys/Packers game, so expect a short entry about that later on tonight. Go ‘Boys!
